Dave began his refereeing career whilst still serving in the Army, and joined the Hampshire Referee Society in 2010. Since settling back in Scotland, he can be found in a wide variety of roles supporting the game, Ref, Assistant Ref, No 4 or 5, timekeeper, Ref and AR coach and is one of Scottish Rugby's educator workforce. Dave is still part of the Army Referee Society and has on occasions pulled on a Navy Society shirt.

Born in Peebles in 1944, played rugby for Peebles RFC. Moved to Canada in 1967, stayed there for 30 years. Refereed in Canada, London England, Ireland, and here in Scotland. Now coaching referees here for MRURS and as a floor member
